Installing Web Service¶

The Web Service application is a command line application for the Deadline render farm management system. It allows you to get query information from Deadline over an Internet connection with a custom Web Service Scripts to display this information in a manner of your choice, such as a web page.

You can choose to set up the current machine to act as Web Service on the installation type selection screen.

If you have selected the option to configure the current machine as a Web Service, you will be prompted with configuration screens for the Web Service.

Note

These configuration screens only come up once the regular configuration screens have been filled out. They do not appear immediately after the installation type selection screen.

User/Group running the Web Service: OS user or group who will be running the Web Service.

This dialog allows you to select if TLS is required.

This dialog allows you to select whether to generate new or use an existing TLS certificates.

The final dialog allows you to specify a location to store the new certificate and optionally protect it with a password.
