What is AWS Portal?

How does AWS Portal relate to the Spot Event Plugin?

  • The AWS Portal is an all-in-one solution, where as the Spot Event Plugin requires you to set up AWS infrastructure yourself to communicate with your farm and doesn’t handle asset transfer. Both components can technically be run at the same time but they do not complement each other.

How does AWS Portal relate to the Cloud Plugins?

  • The Cloud Plugin interacts with various Cloud Providers and utilizes EC2 On-Demand/Reserved instances. Unlike the Spot Plugin, it doesn’t handle aspects like auto-scaling. Both components can technically be run at the same time but they do not complement each other.

How does AWS Portal relate to the Balancer?

  • The AWS Portal is an all-in-one solution, where as the Balancer will only create, launch, and terminate Cloud instances. The Balancer does not handle any asset transfer, network configuration, or licensing. Both components can technically be run at the same time but they do not complement each other.
