OpenStack¶
Overview¶
The Openstack plugin for Deadline allows for communication between Deadline and an Openstack server. It works with both the Cloud Panel in the Monitor and the Deadline Balancer application.
Configuration¶
Before you can configure the OpenStack plugin for Deadline, you must add OpenStack as a provider in the Cloud Providers dialog in the Monitor. The Openstack plugin requires only a few credentials before it can be used in Deadline. Login to your OpenStack installation. Go to Access & Security, then API Access. Download the Openstack RC File. In there you will find the Tenant, Region, Username and Keystone Endpoint.
Configuration Settings¶

Enable Region: Enables the cloud region for use in Deadline. Additional settings may be required to create new instances.
Credentials
These settings are required to connect to Openstack.
User Name: Your Openstack user name.
Password: The password for your Openstack account.
Keystone Endpoint: The endpoint of the Openstack server. This is listed as Identity in the Access & Security section of the Openstack project.
Tenant Name: The Tenant name (aka Project Name).
Region Name: The name of the Openstack region you would like to use.
VM Configuration
Some of these settings are required to create new instances.
Keypair Name: Instances start with these key names.
Network: Network to start the instance in.
Security Group: Start instances in this security group.
Customization
Instance Name: The name of newly created instances. We add some random characters on the end for uniqueness.
